Brian started his construction company fresh out of college in 1986. Under the initial name Dutchess Decking, Brian and his crew built custom decks, porches and glass sunrooms throughout the Hudson Valley. Within a few years, there was an extensive demand from his clients for more. They wanted kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and many other home improvements! Brian ultimately changed the name of the company to Dutchess Building Specialists, Inc. to lend awareness to these expanded service offerings. Today, the company is known as DBS Remodel, Inc; a full service, design / build residential remodeling firm.

Brian loves to educate and is very passionate about sharing his 40+ years of knowledge in the remodeling industry! Locally, Brian and his team offer educational seminars for homeowners seeking guidance on how to safely hire a remodeling contractor. In addition, Brian is an industry consultant, helping other remodeling companies around the country navigate towards success. He is a perennial speaker at the National Remodeling Convention and JLC Live, and the author of the Homeowner Handbook; Your guide to selecting a Remodeling Contractor.

In 2024 Brian, and his team, achieved national recognition when Brian was announced as the recipient of the prestigious Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year award. This national award seeks to recognize a company that exemplifies success with innovation and exceptional growth within their remodeling business.

Brian lives in LaGrangeville with his wife Darleen. He has two grown children, Ayla and Reed. Ayla is the marketing director at DBS Remodel.
